Antoine Semenyo saga reaches its final stages
Last week, it was reported by David Ornstein that Antoine Semenyo had chosen Manchester City as his next club, following months of speculation where all of the biggest clubs in England were linked with his signature.
Several other reliable sources have also reported Semenyo's decision to join Man City, and today, IndyKaila has reported that the player's representatives have arrived in Manchester to finalise the deal.
It isn't thought that there will be any stumbling blocks in getting the deal over the line from here, despite whispers that Liverpool are considering one more attempt to convince the 25-year-old that his future lies at Anfield.
With Semenyo now all-but a Man City player, it is anticipated that his final match for Bournemouth will be on Tuesday night when the Cherries welcome Chelsea to the Vitality Stadium.
Liverpool target Bastoni
Liverpool have reportedly made Alessandro Bastoni their top defensive target for next summer, with the Reds viewing the young Italian as the heir to Virgil van Dijk at Anfield.
According to a report in Football Insider, Bastoni is well-liked at Liverpool and has been on their radar for the past 18 months.
The Inter Milan defender is valued at around £80m, which is just £5m more than Liverpool paid for Van Dijk back in 2018. To buy another world-class defender in his prime for a similar fee eight years later will likely be viewed as smart business on Merseyside.
Liverpool's pursuit of Bastoni could happen alongside their ongoing interest in Marc Guehi, who will be available for a free transfer in the summer.
Raheem Sterling's Chelsea nightmare nears its end
Raheem Sterling is ready to move on from Chelsea this winter, with the former Man City and Liverpool winger desperate for a transfer away from the club.
According to a report by Flashscore, Crystal Palace and Fulham are both considering an approach for Sterling, who has been deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge since returning from his loan spell at Arsenal in the summer.
It isn't thought that the Blues would demand any kind of transfer fee for the player, but they may have to contribute to any expected wage reduction that Sterling will take if he does move elsewhere next month.
It is understood that Sterling's preference is to remain in London, so a move to Crystal Palace or Fulham would suit him perfectly.
